Bathrooms Are Dangerous

Bathrooms Are Dangerous

Jon Kolsky points out the bathroom is a very dangerous room in any home.  I know this frist hand as my wife slipped and fell breaking and doing more damage to her foot simply stepping into the tub.

I hope you are safe and find time to drop by Jon's page and leave your comment.   I'm sure he will appreciate hearing from you.

Going to the bathroom- It’s Dangerous!

If you ask most people what is the most dangerous room in a house, the most popular answer is the kitchen, even though most home fires and gas leaks start in the kitchen and the kitchen is dangerous, it’s not the most dangerous.

Drumroll please…..The most dangerous room in a home, and where you are most likely to get hurt or possibly die, "is the bathroom." The bathroom is responsible for many hospital visits, and is one of the leading causes of death with the elderly. And the numbers don’t look good for those over 80; about half of their injuries are in the bathroom near the toilet.

There are many ways to make a bathroom safer; slipping is one of the main causes. You want to make sure the floor in the bathroom isn’t a slippery mess, installing grab bars & hand rails really goes a long way preventing accidental falls. The shower is very dangerous and needs to be better protected as well; there are shower benches and chairs you can install.

I know this sound expensive, but the alternative is much worse…Let us protect our elderly loved ones, going the bathroom or taking a shower should not be like playing Russian-roulette.

Be positive! It's about a leap of faith, trusting faith, believing, acting and making it happen!
