The photo below was a common scene during our journey to The Heart of Dixie, however a scene that is not the normal as residents of Albuquerque. On this calm, crisp and foggy morning the the sun was pressing hard to penetrate the fog and just enough to highlight the beauty of this gorgeous tree. The Southern home in the background set the stage for this photo. Autumn Color on Fog. We hope you enjoy your day.

Hi John, Great picture, I love Autumn too!
That is just beautiful. I love the way the house is "hidden" behind the fog while the tree, dressed in the lastest fall fashion, takes the stage... LOVE IT!
Wonderful photo. Fall leaf turning is just beginning here. I love the Fall...
What a beautiful and eerie shot. I love it, John. And, I love the fall. I need to get some good pictures of the trees here.
Hi John,
A great shot my friend......I love the jean seasons
Good morning, John -- that's the wonderful thing about traveling capturing photos and the memories of places, people and events that we may not see at home. Have a safe trip home.
As you as well John...mother nature is the most beautiful of all!
John: As I scrolled down the photo (from my small screen laptop) I got the wonderful surprise of the house. Good photo. Love the composition.
John Our Fall color is about a week away from peak - I'll be "camera busy"
Thanks, John, for sharing the autumn colors. I hope you are having an outstanding week.
John- So many gorgeous colors in this tree, another great shot! Safe travels on your way back home.
John, what a beautiful tree especially with the fog! The trees sure are changing down there too.
Good morning John.
That is a beautiful tree to look at every morning.
Beautiful, John! It looks like a painting ... and definitely postcard worthy :) Yes, Fall is showing up everywhere now!
John,
You are so creative my friend. Great name for the picture being Autumn Color on Fog. Good picture and I do like the colors and the contrast. We really do not get those colors here in Texas.
Hey J. I love your photo. I am just fascinated byt the beautiful colors of fall. I can't get enough pictures of the changing leaves. Which is probably a good thing because the wind is blowing like crazy here today leaving most of the trees naked till Spring. Darn!
Good Morning John, Great picture, reminds me of Pennsylvania, lots of fog and with leaves changing lot of photos to take. Have a safe return to home.
John,
What a gorgeous shot of autumn colors. We have really enjoyed all your photography and your sharing your travel adventures with us, and I for one admire how you stayed in touch with all your Active Rain friends all this time. A

John: Captured memories are always fun to go back and re-visit. So glad you had a good time with your trip to see family/friends.
Hi John,
That is a beautiful photo. I just love the house in the background.
John, According to our local farmers, the number fogs in the morning in August are directly related to the snows in the winter. It must be a Southern thing.
Very nice picture John, If you want to see some more leaves, you can head up to NH, i will soon have about a billion on my lawn that will need help picking up... I could ship them as well....
John, as soon as I saw that photo I knew it wasn't taken in Albuquerque NM. We did see a fair amount of fog over the last few days.
The mists provide a mystical look to the picture, John! I can almost feel the frost on the pumpkin:-)
Fab photo... our scenes like that have just begun. Inbetween showers I'll have my camera ready!
Hi, John. What an awesome picture. I'm glad you got some time away for some R and R.
Hi John, Really a nice capture on a foggy morning. I enjoy the calmness offered by a mild fog.
Sounds like you have seen many things in nature on your trip that you do not often see back home.
Take care,
Gloria

John, the fall season is certainly my favorite times of the year. The photo you shared is wonderful. Thanks for sharing it with all of us today.
We are experiencing the same type of beauty right now in the Richmond VA area and I love it. Fall is my favorite time of year...I love watching the old shed its skin for the new to make its debut!
Hi John, stunning photo and we too are enjoying those magnificent colors-lots of reds and oranges - I love Autumn even though the days are getting so short!
What a gorgeous shot John! You are an excellent photographer. Drive safe.
John, there is nothing quite like morning fog to make everything look, well, at least interesting. Great tree!
John (QMan)- the fog makes the beautiful colors pop even more! I haven't seen fog in a while but I like it.
Great photo! Very evocative. And, John, do you ever post anything that garners less than 30 comments? Talk about Rocking the Rain!?!
