As with most any river you will inevitably come across a fair amount of drift wood. We most likely wouldn't give it a glance or at most pick it up and observe it only to send it back into the rivers current. Unless of course you have the mind of an artist or sculptor. This piece I call the “Driftwood Stallion” is located in downtown Chattanooga Tennessee. It sits in front of a museum and shows clearly how something as simple and benign as driftwood can be transformed into a work of art that captures the interest and awe of so many.
We human souls are a bit like driftwood floating through life's many rivers but in the Masters hands are plucked from that meandering river and transformed into something exceptional and something unique. In our Creators plan we shall become His sculpture and masterpiece.

John that is really cool...amazing what you can do with some old drift wood - thanks for making me think!!
Now, Q man, I knew you were going to take us to some wonderful place in our creative minds and spirits and you didn't disappoint! Majestic in every sense of the word.
John, love it...how to make something out of nothing! I once won a contest decorating a hospital department, I made reindeer out of paper bags and had them flying over the nurses station.
John, It is amazing what some people will do with found objects! Simply beautiful!
Have a great weekend.
Gloria
John, this is so cool! Never seen anything like this guy! He'd be an interesting ride.
John, great Art, Great Pictures & Great philosophy!! Loved the creative genius of the artist!
That's definitely a horse of a different color John.
Wonders never cease in the hands of a talented photographer; nice shot and a great analogy to go with it.
John~ I'm fascinated by this type of truly creative art. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
That's pretty cool John. I wish I were that creative with driftwood.
That's very cool Q Man.........diggin' it here in Ohio. Hope all is well sir. Make it a great weekend!
Hi John. Wow! That is really some kind of sculpture. Thanks.
The sculpture is stunning but I like your words even better.
".......in the Masters hands are plucked from that meandering river and transformed into something exceptional and something unique. In our Creators plan we shall become His sculpture and masterpiece."
John: The artistic abilities of some truly amaze me...to be able to take old wood and create a wonderful statue always leaves me in awe.
Thanks so much for touching base John and looks like you are having a marvelous getaway-I love Tennesee-Nashville and environs are one of my favorite towns-also love Asheville NC. The driftwood horse is beautiful-looks like we both love sculpture and seem to find unusual pieces in our travels. Safe journey.
Good morning John. I am enjoying your travels and your finds. So special and so unique: kind od like you my friend.
So cool John...i have never seen anything that captivating from driftwood...love the use of natural wares in our environment.
John, goes to show you that one man's junk can be another man's treasure. It is up to you! Enjoy your day!
Good morning John,
A lovely and imaginative piece of art, thanks for sharing these photos!
John, the way artists view the world and the common things lying all about us, constantly leave me in awe.
John that is a spectacular photo, what a great job all with driftwood. I was wondering if you survived the storms last night
The creativity involved to be able to turn what we see as floating wood into such a piece of art is fantastic.
Thanks, John, for sharing your travels and your photographs.
Have an outstanding weekend and enjoy the colors of autumn.
How creative and interesting! People have some great ideas with some of the weirdest things. :)
Hi, John...it amazes me what some people see and others don't see. That's what makes our world so interesting. Have a great day.
The creative mind that can put materials to art is an awesome thing! Had I been given the pile of driftwood, it would never have manifested like that!
The photo is fun, but your words make it magnificent. Hope you're having a great weekend - wherever you are - and whatever you're doing.
John- Great photo but, I like your words even better. This artist has quiet an imagination!
John,
My friend you astound me with your deep articles about man , life and the LORD. You should think about writing a book or something else to channel all this creative ability into something others can enjoy. Great job and I have to suggest. I really like the pictures and the sculpture created from driftwood.
Thanks for sharing your photo, John.
It is amazing how some people have such talent.. to create something like that.
John only a true artist would of thought to do that!
The Driftwood Stallion is so beautiful and reminds me of the Odyssey. Beautiful photo yet again!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Like this blog John. Great analogy. A true work of art as well.
John, that is awesome. What a visionary to create such a beautiful sculpture. You've got to appreciate that kind of talent.
Hi John, the horse is such a unique piece of art! I'm always amazed at the the abilities some people posses.
Thanks for dropping by my friends. I was amazed that I couldn't find a name or artist name with this cool piece but there was none. I would have never thought about utilizing driftwood to produce such a cool piece. Guess that's why I'm a Realtor and not an artist :)
I wasn't sure what the stallion would be.... One piece or several pieces... And this looks pretty cool! Must have taken a long time to put together!
