John: This is always such a spectacular event. When I was going to graduate school in Glendale, Arizona, our campus would hold an annual hot air balloon event too - the Thunderbird Balloon Classic. I enjoyed the different shapes of the hot air balloons floating overhead.
Those are some pretty cool balloons. My kids would love to go to something like that...curious what the hands on part is.
Hi John~ OH! you brought me a smiel this morning! THX. =)
Hands on means...... Everyone walks around the huge balloon field and helps where and as needed. Helping spread the flat balloons out, holding the envelope open to blow air in the balloon. Handing the crew what they need when. Holding the gondola down and then cheering on the balloonist as they take off into the wild blue yonder :) It's a really fun adventure.
Wow! This would be an exciting event John. Hope you get out there, take a ride and get us some pictures!
We saw billboards advertising this as we drove through the Q on our recent trips. WISH we could be there. What a blast!!
John- This picture just makes me smile!
What a happy photo! Thank you for the smile.
I enjoyed the Balloon Fiesta last year. It's such an enjoyable and amazing event!
Would love to attend. What is a splash and dash? Conjurs up visons of water landings
Doug... A splash and dash is just that. The balloon drops down in the Rio Grande and touches (glides along the top of the water) then lifts back up and heads up, up and away again. Awesome to see and even more awesome to experience!
I just love balloon festivals ..they are the best
We will be watching for your photographs.
Enjoy the day and the fall season. Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments that you will wish to share.
Hi John. I hope you and Debbie will make it to this event. I can't wait to see your pictures. Pack a picnic lunch and take a break to take it all in!!!
The balloon festival is something that I very much want to attend, looks to be something you really need to see in person.
Hi John - What an exciting time to be in Albuquerque. We have various balloon festivals here, and I've been able to attend a few and do a few flights, but the Albuquerque festival is the Big One, and I'd love to see it someday.
Hi John -- great photo that highlights the fun and reminds everyone to see the 2012 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.
John, I've never been lucky enough to be down there on business when the balloon festival is on. Maybe one of these days it'll work out :)
I've always wanted to go to a balloon festival. I hope you post a followup with lots of pictures! :)
Good Afternoon John McCormack,
The balloon fiesta looks like a ton of fun for the whole family. Great localism post!
John,
i have always wanted to go to balloon fiesta in Albuquerque but so far I have never made it. We have been to Albuqureque but not recently and we have to plan a trip. Maybe next year and of courses we would want to see you folks.
That's a fun picture of the two facing each other! I am sooooooo not going up in one, but I have to say it is pretty majestic! :)
Hi John, the ABQ Balloon festival is something I would love to experience with my girls! I can only imagine what a fun time it is and as I can see in your picture, plenty of special characters that will delight little ones.
John
I miss being at the Fiesta which I have been to 3 times. Probably one of the best and worst memories are the breakfast burritos they serve there. They are absolute cheers for any hang-over for they sure clean your system out in a hurry. cheers cvc
John, the kids as well as he adults :) will love attending this baloon festival...I know I would...still have the kid in me :)
Good afternoon John.
That looks like fun.
Hi John,
I've been to Albuquerque for your colorful balloon festival and what a treat!! It truly is amazing!
John while I will not be able to make it to the Q for the balloons I will be doing the next best thing and checking back on your blog to see all of your posts. You will be posting more about the balloon festival won't you?
John - Of all of the different activities and places Albuquerque is known for, the annual balloon festival is at the top of my list!
John, a ride on one of these guys is on my bucket list. In your part of the world, the scenery must be beautiful.
The creative design of balloons becomes more amazing all the time! Those bees are adorable. I would bet that ballooning would be a wonderful pastine to become involved with.
John,
Hopefully you are having a great time with the grand kids and relaxing. You folks take care.. I am curious .. Who watches your business while you are gone?
