Home Is Where The Heart Is

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Home Is Where The Heart Is, nm, john mccormack, realtor, albuquerque homes realty

They say home is where the heart is.  Something about this photo draws me. I wonder who lived here, loved here, played here, worked here and probably died here.  What did they do for a living?  How did they survive the harsh winters and scorching dry summers?  Something about this photo tells me the people were happy, they were survivors and they thrived in this home.  Reflecting on this photo and home place reminds me  that even in today’s crazy world .. home is still where the heart is.

John, Very well done. It does make you think what went on here.

That was a time of surviving and being self sufficient. Don't know if I could have done that.

John, There's got to be a lot of history behind that home.  Another mystery we'll probably not know the answer to.

I see some of the old houses and do wonder how people live there, but I am sure they were happy to call it home.

John: Driving past old dilapidated homes always conjures up thoughts like that for me too.  I always wonder the how, what, and why.

John,

Good picture and very nice reflection for all of us to think about and have our own idea. When I see homes like that one I always wonder what happened that the home neded up like this? I will suggest.

Hi John -- it's always the people and the memories that turn a house into the home -- it's so much more than gleaming hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and central air conditoning.

John, beautiful photo.  Your blog really got me thinking about that photo.  I stopped looking at it as just a really cool photo and also starting imagining someone once living there.

Thanks John, great pic, reminds me of the days when I used to work in the Zuni mountains near you.  It was always a highlight of my day when I would come across an old farmstead or ghost town in some remote area.

Hi John, what a wonderful picture - I wonder, too! If only these walls could talk. I bet we would sit there mesmerized for days listening to the stories from days long gone.

It is odd how some scenes draw us in...imagining what happened years ago - and giving it a positive spin underscores your own perception of life. And, that bodes well for you doesn't it?

Hi John,

I always drive by and think...boy if these walls could talk. I bet there was some great memories here, babies born, loved ones died, and then people move on to new homes....and that is where we come into play. Great post John!
