How Do I Find a Good Mortgage Lender In Albuquerque

How Do I Find A Good Mortgage Lender In Albuquerque

Many first time home buyers and even seasoned home buyers may ask “How do I find a good mortgage lender in Albuquerque?”  It’s a great question with a multitude of possible answers.  You might search online, read the home seller magazines, let your fingers do the walking or just call one from those billboards hanging around town.  I’m not necessarily applauding any of these techniques.

Listen to your Realtor when selecting a lenderFinding the best loan officer for you and your specific needs is very important and should not be taken lightly.   One of the best ways to find a good mortgage lender is by speaking with your Realtor®.  Your Realtor® has first hand knowledge of area lenders and their practices. A Realtor® sees both sides of a transaction regardless of the who they represent and gets a good overview of just how a lender is responding to their client, to the REALTOR(s) and the title company.  Are they taking care of business in a timely fashion or waiting to the last minute to pull a hat trick.  I have seen far too many transaction where the lender's actions have created unnecessary obstacles,  were laxidaisy in preparation or just offered horrible customer service.  As a borrower you want a lender who is professional, on task, proactive and offers a personal approach to their clients and the other pertinent parties involved in the transaction.

The process of obtaining financing in today’s economic environment can be the most stressful and difficult part of the home buying experience.  Be prepared and do your homework before hiring the OnlineMortgageGuy.com, speak to your REALTOR® or at least ask friends or family for their referral. It never hurts to speak to more than one not only to compare fees and rates but to be sure you’re comfortable and feel connected with that individual.

Remember if you're asking How do I find a mortgage lender?,  be sure to speak to a Realtor®

If you are considering the purchase or refinance of an Albuquerque, Rio Rancho or Central New Mexico home call me, John McCormack,  Realtor®  I would welcome the opportunity to provide you the names of my preferred and seasoned mortgage officers.

Great advice if I have ever seen it.  Realtors have contact with so many different professions related to realty that Realtors are a great source of knowledge that should be tapped into.

That is right on the money John.  We have to stick together.  That is exactly how we network ourselves with the top Agents as well.  We send out our leads to the top agents in our area and it all comes back.  Nothing is lost as long as there is trust in the relationship.  It takes time and effort to build a network of top professionals but well worth it.  You will not feel like your alone in this business.  I remember I started with one Realtor and now we have many more that trust our work.  Great points and I can't agree more.

John,

Love the photo - is that your ear? It sure looks like it! This is a great post, suggested of course. Everything you said is so true! There's nothing better to have in this industry than a competent lender who is experienced, friendly, maintains confidentiality and very knowledgeable. A lender can make or break a deal and it's very difficult to represent a buyer when their lender becomes a challenge.

Trust and integrity are key and a good Realtor, such as yourself, knows the good ones from the ones that are less desirable or not as competent.

Hi John --- you make an excellent point about observing and working with lenders regardless of your representation.  I've recommended lenders to buyers based on how I observed the actions of a lender while representing a seller in a transaction.

I just wrote about this very topic in my monthly newsletter and I couldn't agree more! Realtors have a front row seat when it comes to evaluating Mortgage Consultants and over time you come to know who is committed to providing client service at a very high level. It fairly easy to spot those who go the extra mile to make a deal happen. In Albuquerque contact John McCormack and ask for a referral to a great mortgage consultant you'll be glad you did. I can see the importance of speaking to a realtor about a mortgage lender John. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi John, a good mortage person is a very valuable "asset" to have it eliminates the "nightmare" closing.

Buyers don't always realize that a good mortgage person can make things go so much smoother and eliminate

so many "hassels."

 Have an awesome day !

Good advice for prospective home buyers.  Everybody, including investors, that plans to use mortgage financing should have a pre-approval letter in hand.

Have a most productive August and be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments.

Hi John.  Referrals are the best way to find proven professionals.

John, after my experiences of the last 2 months I would go 1 step further and ensure their underwriting is not Gestapo drill like on petty stuff too...i have a great mortgage lender who is available 7 days a week to buyers but I'm finding their underwriting has become excessively difficult to get through...and makes the buyers unhappy & I do not want my buyers unhappy!

John, Realtors have the advantage of multiple experiences with a lender. They can help avoid pitfalls of someone getting lucky one time or having one bad experience. Great advice! Enjoy your day!

Absolutely John, asking for a referral from your Realtor is a great way to find one. We only recommend someone who we know will work as hard as we do to get the deal done!

Realtor referrals are probably the best. If you have a referral of someone who just used that lender in completing a mortgage that is good too.

Hi John - You're absolutely right about who knows where to find a good lender. Mary & I are certain we know the very best lender in northern Colorado, just as you certainly know the right person in the Q.

Good Morning John,  Yesterday I had a closing and the buyer agent recommended her lender, figures where not there 3 hours after the closing time.  Her buyer was upset and so where my sellers.  The buyer wanted to know of who I would of use.

Good morning, John -- great post for consumers on how to find a good mortgage lender in Albuquerque, NM. I have hit the suggest button, my friend, and wish you a great day ahead!

This is such good advice John. Lenders come and go. Experienced real estate agents always have 2-3 go to people who have fairfax county real estate agents Jan and Steve Bachmanbeen recommended and come through for their clients. A sharp lender can either make or save a transaction.

Oh John, If they would only get to us first then we could direct their paths. Oftentimes it's too late and the buyer is committed.

John ~ Good advice. Having a Lender that knows the Town is critical, IMO. They are the ones that live in the area and know it as well. BTW, I like Rebeccas response... lol...   :)

John - I almost dread when they come pre-loaded if I don't know the person/lender they are using. It can be a nightmare with the wrong one.

John,

This is excellent advice.  The online guys have the best of intentions, but they don't know the ins and outs in a particular marketplace.  I remember a guy telling me he lends all over CA,, and doen't have an office in Los Angeles.  How does he know how the market REALLY is in LA when he is in Nevada?  Talk to your realtor is exactly the answer.  A

Such good advice for all borrowers out there. They should remember the old adage, if it is too good to be true, when blindly picking the low "come on" interest rates often posted on the web. Just tell them how many horror stories that happen when the borrowers is at the title company signing closing docs only to find the interest rate is higher than what they were initially quoted. cheers cvc

A good reputable lender who can make things happen is rare similar to a good solid and knowledgeable Realtor. Some fo it is luck if you find one you can get good referrals for the other. If you get a bad one then fasten seatbelts the ride is going to get bumpy
