Getting the Most Money out of your Updates/Remodeling
We would like to sell and you will LOVE all the updates we did!
Time and time again we visit with Denver sellers hoping to sell their homes, and at a price they have in mind. They may have bought the home at the top of the market, could be the largest home in the neighborhood, and have done the upgrades since the purchase.
Even though all signs are pointing to Denver enjoying a seller’s market, values have not been increasing just yet. Appraisers are still quite concerned about giving more value than the last home sold --- their licenses are still on the line.
Sellers need to remember the upgrading you do, not EVERY penny goes into the sales price. Some of these upgrades need to be done for your enjoyment! The best bang for your buck would be for the kitchen and bath as updating will realize about 60-70% of the price you invested, as long as you did not go totally extravagant. The National Association of REALTORS® put out a publication with information on different remodels homeowners can do within different regions of the U.S. and what you can expect to re-coop when selling.
