STAGE THE BEDROOM, YOUR INNER SANCTUM
Joanna Cohlan has some great points on staging our bedrooms, our inner sanctum if you will before listing to sale. Actually it would do us all good to keep our bedrooms in this order all the time.

Your bedroom is your inner sanctum, a quiet haven for intimacy and reflection. Since the bedroom is a private space, it invites both introspection and expression. Here is where to surround yourself with things you love-color, art, textiles-to begin and end each day by a room that feeds your soul.
Perfection should not be a concern here. This is the space where you can relax and be yourself so forget about any complex arrangements or design by the book. Start with the basics: comfort, warmth, soft light, and storage. Dress at a mirror that gives you the best reflection, nestle in a well upholstered chair that invites you to sleep, dream in a bed that supports your back as well as your spirit, and step on a floor that will energize your day.
To create that sense of calmness, the clutter must go. Huggable hangers are your best investment-you will want to hang up your clothes and they will want to stay put. While a pile of laundry will make you nervous, a stack of books by your bed or chair will beckon you back. Find a great lamp or lampshade to put by the chair, wonderful art to spark smiles or romance, beautiful boxes to hold your personal things and to stack on the dresser.
This is the room for those photos of family, special finds from your travels and functional objects with whimsy and color. I will often decorate a bedroom differently than the rest of the house, because this is the space where everyday objects may be functional and beautiful in a very personal way.Interior Decorating - Home Staging
