This Large Mountain Lion was spotted and shot near Ruidoso New Mexico
A friend of mine recently sent this photo of a Mountain Lion that was spotted in the mountain resort community of Ruidoso New Mexico. Reports were that the animal was seen in a residential areas and near a local school. Apparently the Mountain Lion has little fear of humans which prompted New Mexico Game and Fish to locate and kill the animal. Opinions were mixed about the demise of this gorgeous, healthy and fearless lion.
Ruidoso New Mexico is a popular Mountain resort town located 185 miles Southeast of Albuquerque. Ruidoso is near the base of Sierra Blanca Peak which is just shy of 12,000’ elevation. Ski Apache is a hot spot of activity for skiers all over New Mexico and Texas. Ski Apache is the Southernmost ski area in the United States. Ruidoso is also famous for the All American Futurity horse race held each summer. The Ruidoso Downs Track holds the all time record for fastest quarter horse race.
There is so much to do and see here in New Mexico. From high desert to high mountain you can bet you will find something highly energy or incredibly relaxing any time of year. Just another
