I personally like and use QR Codes and thought Debbie had a great post about them. I hope you drop by Debbie Laity's page and leave your comments and input. I'm sure Debbie Laity will enjoy hearing from you. Make it a grand day!
Are QR codes the next big thing, or just a passing fad? I think they are here to stay. What is a QR code? Well QR stands for quick response code. This is a two dimensional code that can be scanned by your smart phone to get more information on a product or service. Bascially the QR Code will do what you program it to do. For real estate applications you could place a QR code on a brochure and have it link to your website for more pictures and information on that property.
The codes looks likes the image to the left. You first need to download an app to your smart phone. NeoReader from Neomedia works on my LG Sprint phone. You can also go to www.percentmobile.com/getqr. This website has a list of QR code reader apps that work for the different phone models. Use your phone, with the app installed, to scan any QR code. The code basically merges print advertising with a web presence. It takes the consumer beyond the paper and allows the consumer to download and save information.
How can we use this in our business? There are all kinds of ways. The code can be placed on a postcard, flyer, business cards and notepads. You can have the code linked to your website or to whatever information you wish to have connected to a particular code. Always test your QR before you put it out there. Another benefit is that the codes are tracked, and you can track your ROI. On a mailing you can use the code to present a video about you, or a particular neighborhood. On a flyer you can link the code to a video about the property. These are just a few of the ways you can use QR codes.
Once you have the mobile app installed, generate your QR codes for free. Here are two websites that were recommended to me.
www.delivr.com/qr-code-generator www.BeQRious.com Now that you have this information, play around and have fun. See what works for you.
