NM Cowboy
While camping and hiking in NM Debbie and I stumbled upon a quiet lake. Much to our surprise a small herd of cattle were grazing at the crystal clear lake. The cattle kept feeding cautiously watching us as we watched them. There were no fences no rails just the lake, cattle and us. We wanted to continue our hike to the north but a huge bull stood his ground, not moving away with the rest of the herd. After a few loud snorts we decided he meant we weren’t going to cross the herds path so we backed down not turning our backs on the huge and aggravated beast.
As we topped a hill heading back to our campsite out of no where this NM Cowboy appeared on the trail. We threw up a hand and said hello in passing. The cowboy didn’t utter a word but looked at us like we were cattle rustlers. As we watched the trail we realized this cowboy probably made the trek on a regular basis to check his stock and was suspicious of anyone found near his herd. When camping or hiking in NM one just never knows who or what they will run across. This NM cowboy reminded us of actor Sam Elliott. So what do you think....a Sam look alike?
