Fall is a great time to invite Mr. Clean to your Albuquerque home

Albuqurque Man Rakes LeavesFall is a great time to invite Mr. Clean to your Albuquerque home for sale. Just because the trees are not green and the flowers not happily blooming it's no reason your home shouldn't show well.  Buyers understand your New Mexico home curb appeal isn't going to be drop dead gorgeous during the fall and winter season they get it.  However showing your Albuquerque home in it's best light should still be priority one.  So take advantage of the fall season to clean up the place up and get it looking great.

Consider trimming back those trees and bushes, rake loose leaves and pull unsightly weeds.  Windows often take a visual beating through the summer months with rains, dust, miss guided sprinklers, birds and such.  Sparkling clean windows add that WOW factor to any home, its an easy DIY job inside and out.  Some warm water a fewClean Windows While Home is For Sale drops of dish soap and a cup of vinegar makes a great window cleaner.  Just remove the screens, this would be a good time to wash them as well. Use a car wash sponge or similar, a decent squeegee then wash, squeegee and replace the screens, voila great looking windows!

Take a good look around to see if anything is in disrepair, now is a perfect time to tackle it so your not trying to fix something in the dead of winter when Mr. Inspector reveals the defect...and he will find it!

Cleaning Ceiling Fans. OUCHThe inside needs attention too!  Start high and work your way down.  Ceiling fans and light fixtures often go unattended far to long.  Get out the ladder and wipe them down, normally you can remove the globes so run them through the dishwasher.  Look for cobwebs, fuzzies hanging from heating/cooling registers, use your vacuum to suck up the dirt and dust.  While your cleaning those windows why not vacuum the window sills, blinds, drapes and and valances.  It would be a great time to clean those baseboards too.  Now that all that dirt has fallen to the ground give everything a thorough vacuuming including furniture and lamp shades!  Don't forget to mop! This is also the best time to replace your furnace filters and smoke detector batteries. Think about what you can de-clutter while your doing all that cleaning, box it up and get into the garage...neatly! It's far better to have a garage full of boxed personal affects than have them stealing your buyers attention during the tour. They need to see your home not your collection of treasures.

Buyers are picky and there is a lot of homes for them to browse and inspect.  I have always said the home that wins the beauty contest and is priced assertively will win the buyer every time.  If you have ever been in a builders model home it is always staged, very clean and shows  beautifully.  You don't have to have a model home but it does need to be crisp and clean inside and out.  So remember It’s fall, so invite Mr.Clean to your home it could add to your final net-out or at minimum outshine your competition winning you that much needed offer.
