A Typical Albuquerque Morning in the beautiful “Land of Enchantment”
I slowly woke this morning to the familiar sound of a hot air balloon firing its
propane burners just over my rooftop. Now this isn’t a sound that startles you unless you happen to be very close but certainly one we all become accustomed to as part of the Albuquerque Lifestyle. As I cleared my sleepy head I looked up through the eyebrow window in our bedroom and sure enough there she was floating along just a few hundred feet off the ground as she gently drifted along in the stillness of the Albuquerque sky. Then I spotted another one and yet another, I decide to grab the camera to share this familiar experience. The Rainbow Ryders were flying two of these balloons today as they do nearly every morning providing flights to those who wish to experience the excitement and yet serenity that comes from floating in a hot air balloon. It is not uncommon for my wife and I to have conversation with the pilot and passengers as they carelessly float ever so slowly overhead.
